Missing Items

I installed ICE the other day and liked the layout and functionality. However, I was moving a menu bar item and accidentally removed it from both menu areas. It disappeared, and I have not been able to get it back. I deleted ICE and all its associated files, and it still does not show up. I deleted the menu bar application (Busycal) and reinstalled and it still does not show. I even tried using Bartender and no dice. Any suggestions?

This one usually is not caused by Ice at all. When a menu bar item gets dragged off the bar, macOS records that in the owning app's own preferences (an NSStatusItem Visible key), which is why reinstalling Ice or Bartender does not bring it back.

Try this: quit BusyCal, then run defaults read com.busymac.busycal3 | grep -i statusitem in Terminal. You should see an "NSStatusItem Visible" key set to 0. Delete it with defaults delete com.busymac.busycal3 "NSStatusItem Visible Item-0" (use the exact key name you saw in the previous step) and relaunch BusyCal.

Also worth checking BusyCal's own settings, it has a "show in menu bar" toggle that reads the same state.
