First - nice feature!
I expected it to select Another nice touch would be if after inserting the table first |

Neat, altho it looks like slash commands are not working (yet?) in issue forms. |

When I heard about this feature I was hoping GitHub would finally the powerful slash commands from Gitlab. It doesn't look like it though, so IMO this feature falls short of its huge potential. I'm especially missing the following ones:
Additional features that could be interesting:
If those commands were supported in saved replies, we could have very powerful automations for things that need to be done on a regular basis and that currently need custom bots etc. |

Love the slash commands idea. However, I feel that there is a missed opportunity. Commands where additional attributes can be added via the menu could be useful having them as arguements. For example:

I'm editing a code block and when I delete some text next to a slash this dialog pops up, it's pretty of annoying when I'm editing not trying to enter a slash command Is there any way to turn off slash commands? |

Can alerts be added to slash commands too, please? |

When using Saved Replies via slash commands I currently have to hit Surely once a command has been selected it would be far more user-friendly to create a new search context when the user continues typing. As it stands, I have to stop typing and scroll to find the saved reply I'm looking for - which aren't even sorted. |

+1 for adding support for more powerful slash commands similar to GitLab! Specifically:
This would make GitHub much more efficient for teams coming from GitLab or wanting ChatOps-style interactions directly in issues/PRs without needing bots. Also, please add support for slash commands in Issue Forms soon – that's a big blocker for many. Thanks for the great feature so far! |

My first reaction was to be against this since I believe in learning the actual language (like Markdown) and using it so that you don't get locked in to muscle-memory or your brain only knowing the GitHub way of doing things and, thus, not being able to do them elsewhere. However, in playing around with it, I can see that it can be very useful for users who don't want to learn a Markdown language and just want to share log output or a code snippet or whatever. It's also very nice that it's not only triggered by a slash in a text-box, but that there's a button for it as well. Thumbs up! I think it will simplify instructions nicely. For example: This:
Becomes this:
Or this:

Going further, if you have to use a slash, put it in brackets (curly or otherwise). We also need to start adding a $HOME var however keep in mind, this isn't ground zero for private && local. |
