I'm a software engineer. I build software for regulated environments and maintain open-source macOS apps. Lately I'm going deeper into platform engineering, performance, and systems research.

• 👨🏻‍💻 Software Engineer @ Dexcom. I build the automation, governance, and delivery pipelines behind mobile app compatibility and FDA-sensitive configuration, for apps that connect 2.9M+ people to their medical sensors.
• 🏗️ Project Lead @ thaw-app, home of Thaw, the open-source macOS menu-bar manager (12k+ ⭐, 450k+ downloads), and the Floe launcher. I handle technical direction, releases, and the community.
• 👨‍🚀 Learning cloud-native and platform engineering with Kubernetes, Pulumi, CI/CD, and SRE practice.

What I work on in thaw-app:

• Thaw: the menu-bar manager. I rebuilt it for macOS 27 after Apple's changes broke the mechanism it relied on. It ships in 20 languages on stable, beta, and alpha channels.
• Floe: a native macOS launcher that runs unmodified Raycast extensions through a Bun host and a React-to-Swift renderer.
• website and updates: getthaw.app, with docs, changelogs, and a Thaw demo that runs in the browser, plus the signed Sparkle feed Thaw updates from.
• platform: the GitHub org as code with Pulumi (repos, teams, rulesets, environments), with drift detection.
• org-ci and .github: shared release automation (signing, notarization, Sparkle deltas), workflows, and org defaults. Thaw holds an OpenSSF Best Practices Gold badge.
• raycast-extension: control Thaw from Raycast to toggle sections, search menu-bar items, and open settings.

• ejbills/DockDoor: Reduce Motion support and accessibility labels.
• steipete/CodexBar: a fix for display-change recovery that was corrupting menu-bar managers.
