React map app skeleton by Geoapify

A minimal Vite + React 19 project to start a map application with Geoapify map tiles. Follow the React map template to add a map with MapLibre GL, Leaflet, react-leaflet or OpenLayers.

Run the application

  1. Clone or download this repository.
  2. Install Node.js 20.19+ or 22.12+.
  3. Copy .env.example to .env.local and set your Geoapify API key (get one for free at Geoapify MyProjects). .env.local is ignored by git.
  4. Run npm install.
  5. Run npm run dev and open http://localhost:5173.

The page shows "The map will be displayed here". Replace src/components/my-map.jsx with the map code from the samples.

Map tiles

Geoapify map styles follow the MapLibre/Mapbox style specification. See the Map Tiles documentation for style URLs and raster tile URLs.

Tested 2026-10-26 with Node 24, Vite 8, React 19.
